An international student video conference of Slavic universities took place «Great Patriotic War: the history of a common victory»
The Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University hosted an international student video conference of Slavic universities on the topic «The Great Patriotic War: the history of the common Victory». The event was organized by the Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage KRSU.
Representatives from five universities participated:
Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, Belarusian-Russian University, Russian-Tajik (Slavic) University, Russian-Armenian (Slavic) University, Russian State Humanitarian University.
The key goal of the meeting is to preserve the historical memory of the Great Patriotic War, intensify student interest in the study of little-known pages of history and strengthen cooperation between heroic and patriotic organizations of Slavic universities.
Participants presented reports based on new archival data and evidence that shed light on the feat of the Soviet people in the fight against fascism. KRSU students presented their own documentary, which aroused keen interest among the participants and was highly appreciated.
Leonid Sumarokov, historian and head of the Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage KRSU, noted:
«The history of the Great Patriotic War — is not only a lesson from the past, but also the foundation for our present and future. Our task — is to preserve the memory of the feat of the generation of winners and pass it on to future generations. Today's video bridge —this is a step towards the formation of a common historical space and strengthening friendship between Slavic universities».
Acting Rector of KRSU Sergei Volkov emphasized the importance of strengthening personal contacts between students and teachers:
«It is important for us not only to preserve the memory of the Victory, but also to strengthen ties between our universities. Such initiatives not only help share experiences, but also create a spirit of unity. I propose that the next meeting be held offline so that we can get to know each other in person, discuss projects and continue our cooperation in a closer format».
The video bridge has become an important platform for discussing historical heritage and promoting heroic and patriotic initiatives among students. The offer of an offline meeting aroused the interest of the participants, and KRSU is ready to become a platform for such a large-scale event in the future.
