KRSU employees took part in the strategic session of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science on the development of endowment capital

Director of the KRSU Change Management Office Lydia Yanina and Head of the KRSU Career and Employment Center Ilya Nikitins took part in the strategic session «Development of endowment capital in science and higher education: Horizon 2036», which took place at the site of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.The event was organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. The strategic session brought together more than 300 representatives of universities, scientific organizations, government bodies, charitable foundations, alumni associations and the expert community.The main goal of the event was to develop proposals for the development of a system of endowment funds (endowments) in the field of science and higher education for the future until 2036. The discussion focused on the integration of endowment capital into the development strategies of universities and regions, improving the regulatory framework, creating sustainable mechanisms for attracting extra-budgetary funds, developing human resources, and increasing the investment sustainability of funds.During the plenary session, participants discussed state policy in the field of development of endowment capital, modern models of fund management, mechanisms for co-financing educational projects, issues of popularizing philanthropy and the best practices of Russian universities. Presentations were made by representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Vladimir Potanin Charitable Foundation, the National Association of Endowments, MGIMO, the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology and other leading organizations.In the afternoon, work continued in thematic sections on developing human resources and management competencies, communication strategies and promoting endowments, creating an enabling regulatory environment, developing endowment funds in science and education, and ensuring their financial sustainability.Today, KRSU is consistently developing its own endowment fund as a mechanism for long-term support of educational, scientific and infrastructure projects of the university. The fund is replenished through voluntary donations from graduates, partners and patrons. In April 2026, a contribution of 10 million soms to the KRSU endowment fund was made by LLC «Bishkek Solar». Attracting extra-budgetary funds through endowment instruments is one of the important study programs for the sustainable development of the university and the implementation of its strategic projects.The participation of representatives of KRSU in the strategic session made it possible to get acquainted with current Russian practices in the field of endowment capital management, discuss promising tools for attracting resources for the development of universities and establish new professional contacts with representatives of the educational and expert community.The event became an important platform for discussing long-term mechanisms to support science and higher education, as well as forming proposals for the further development of the endowment capital system as one of the tools for sustainable development of universities.
