The Federation Council ratified the agreement on the construction of the KRSU campus

The Federation Council of the Russian Federation ratified an agreement on the construction of a new campus of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University in Kyrgyzstan. The decision was made on April 29 at a plenary meeting of the chamber and opens the practical stage of implementing one of the largest educational projects in the region.The agreement between the governments of Russia and Kyrgyzstan was signed on November 26, 2025 in Bishkek. The document defines the key conditions for creating a modern university infrastructure, which will become the basis for training specialists of a new generation and developing scientific and educational cooperation between the two countries.According to the agreements, the Russian side will undertake the design, construction and material and technical equipment of the campus. The Kyrgyz side, in turn, provides a land plot of at least 30 hectares with its transfer to the university for permanent free use.Member of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Victor Kress emphasized that KRSU is a unique interstate humanitarian, scientific and educational project, the mission of which is to develop advanced technologies and train specialists of a new technological level.Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture Liliya Gumerova previously noted that the implementation of the agreement will become a significant point of growth for the development of humanitarian ties and scientific cooperation between countries.Olga Shchetinina, a member of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture, in her channel in «Max», noted that as part of the project, a modern educational campus — university campus will be created, designed to educate up to 15 thousand people, including students, college students and schoolchildren.The construction of the KRSU campus is considered as a strategic step aimed at developing the educational infrastructure of Kyrgyzstan, improving the quality of personnel training and expanding the scientific potential of the university.
