KRSU students presented research at the All-Russian Scientific Conference in Rostov-on-Don

Students of the Faculty of Medicine of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University — Farid Makhamatzhanov (2nd year) and Alina Turgunbekova (1st year) — made presentations at the II All-Russian Scientific Conference «Social Problems of the Russian City», which was held at the Southern Federal University in Rostov-on-Don.

The students' research was devoted to the sociolinguistic aspects of the use of the Russian language among the youth of Kyrgyzstan.

Subjects of the reports:

— «Language as a means of self-expression and the formation of youth subculture in Bishkek»;

— «Bilingualism and linguistic identity of Kyrgyz youth in Bishkek and Osh».

The works aroused interest among the conference participants, as they touch upon current issues of interaction of cultures, linguistic identity and the role of the Russian language in the modern youth space.

The scientific supervisor of the students was Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Russian Philology Zukhra Uruzbakieva.
