KRSU students participated in the Geological Field School Project in the Dzungar Depression, West China, 2024

From August 11 to 25, KRSU students had a unique opportunity to take part in field research as part of a program organized by the Geology Department of the China Petroleum University in Karamay. This program took place in the Dzungar Basin — one of the largest geological structures in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in northwestern China.

Field school — is an educational program that provides students with valuable practical experience in various fields of science and research. The program in Karamay, a city located 240 km west of Urumqi, within the headquarters of the Xinjiang Oil Field (CNPC), was a unique opportunity for students to immerse themselves in the world of geological research.

Over the course of 15 days, students visited ecological parks, hot springs, coal mines, city museums and other attractions in the region. The program concluded with a farewell party, which allowed participants to exchange impressions and celebrate the completion of a rich and exciting program.
