A historical and documentary exhibition will open in Bishkek «Frunze Aero Club – school of heroes!»

On March 10 at 10:00 in the exhibition hall-gallery named after Hero of the Soviet Union Cholponbai Tuleberdiev the opening of a historical and documentary exhibition will take place «Frunzensky Aero Club – school of heroes!».The exhibition is dedicated to the anniversary of the creation of the Frunzensky Aero Club and the feat of Hero of the Soviet Union Ismailbek Taranchiev, performed in March 1944. The exhibition was organized by the United Directorate of Memorial Museums of the city of Bishkek together with the Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after the first President of the Russian Federation B.N. Yeltsin.The exhibition was prepared on the basis of research work carried out in the state archives of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation, as well as in the National Historical Museum of the Kyrgyz Republic. The authors of the exhibition were Doctor of Historical Sciences Olga Sumarokova and Candidate of Historical Sciences Leonid Sumarokov. The study examined wartime materials and historical evidence collected by the search teams «Red Star» and «Memory» of the city of Malaya Vishera, Novgorod region of Russia.Visitors to the exhibition will be able to get acquainted with previously little-known materials about the activities of the Frunzensky flying club of Osoaviakhim of the Kyrgyz SSR and the 24th military aviation school of initial training pilots created on its basis, which trained flight personnel for the Red Army on the eve and during the Great Patriotic War. Materials are also presented on the formation in 1941 in Kyrgyzstan of three aviation regiments that took part in the Battle of Rzhev and the defense of Leningrad.The exhibition is based on archival documents and historical photographs, including portraits of all pilots who underwent initial flight training at the Frunzensky Aero Club and were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
