In the Chui region, a cleanup day was held at the monument to Ivan Panfilov

In the village of Panfilovskoye, Chui region, a large-scale cleanup took place at the monument to the Hero of the Soviet Union, Major General Ivan Panfilov — commander of the 316th Infantry Division, which became famous in the battles near Moscow during the Great Patriotic War.About 200 people took part in the action — students and employees of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, representatives of local authorities and the public, as well as representatives of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Kyrgyz Republic and military personnel.The event was held with the support of the akimiat of the Panfilov region, ayil okmotu, military unit № 73809 of the Ministry of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic, the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo, the representative office of the Embassy of the Russian Federation, the movement «Victory Volunteers», the investment fund Central Asia Capital, as well as the foundry «Dubrovin» (Ekaterinburg).The cleanup was part of a comprehensive restoration of the monument initiated by KRSU. The monument, erected in 1972 at the expense of local residents, has fallen into disrepair over the decades. Key support for the project was provided by the investment fund Central Asia Capital, which acted as the main investor.As part of the first stage of reconstruction, landscaping was carried out: benches and lighting were installed, the monument was cleaned, a bronze information plaque was made and placed, and children's and sports infrastructure was created. The restoration work of the monument, including cleaning, repatinizing and applying a protective coating, was carried out by a specialist from Yekaterinburg, Ivan Dubrovin.In the future, it is planned to continue the reconstruction: replacing the granite covering of the pedestal, patinating the bronze, expanding the territory of the park, installing the T-34 tank, moving the stele «No one is forgotten, nothing is forgotten», as well as creating a thematic zone dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, with the subsequent opening of the Panfilov Museum.Rector of KRSU Sergei Volkov noted that the action is unifying and voluntary:«This is a real cleanup day when we do important things together. I am grateful to the students for their initiative and sincere desire to participate. Such projects become a good tradition and form an attitude towards history and memory».Former deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Nurlanbek Azygaliev emphasized the importance of such initiatives:«This day — is not just a cleanup day, it is a day of respect for the feat of our hero. Residents, youth, and children united here. It shows that the memory is alive and together we can rebuild this park and preserve it for future generations».First Secretary for Education and Science Alexey Poida spoke on behalf of the Embassy of the Russian Federation:«It's very important to see people of different ages come together to preserve memory. Our countries are connected not only by partnership, but also by a common history written by the feat of our ancestors. Such places should live and remain part of everyday life».The head of local government, Mahabat Beisembayeva, expressed gratitude to the participants:«Today's event has become truly significant for our village. We see how, through joint efforts, people's spaces and attitudes towards their history are changing».Chairman of the Council of Veterans Kurmangaly Orozov also noted the importance of the event:«This is a special day for us. We are grateful to everyone who helped preserve the memory of our hero today. It is a contribution to respect for history and for the older generation».On the same day, a patriotic event «Waltz, songs and poems of Victory» took place at the monument. At the foot of the monument, front-line songs were heard, students performed a waltz and read poetry. The atmosphere of the event was filled with respect for the feat of the generation of winners.The action was part of the events dedicated to the 81st anniversary of the Victory, and emphasized the importance of preserving historical memory, continuity of generations and patriotic education of youth.
