A forum of writers and intellectuals «Aitmatov readings» has begun at KRSU
At the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B.N. Yeltsin began holding an international scientific and methodological meeting of specialists on the work of Chingiz Aitmatov.
Speaking with a welcoming speech, Rector Denis Fomin-Nilov emphasized that Chingiz Aitmatov is a significant figure for the university, which was founded by Kyrgyzstan and Russia
«The great writer promoted a culture of bilingualism: he spoke and wrote in Kyrgyz and Russian. Holding «Aitmatov readings» at our university is a great honor for us. I am confident that discussions within the framework of this event will make a great contribution to the further development of Aitmatology», said Denis Fomin-Nilov.
Rector of the Moscow State Linguistic University Irina Kraeva said that today’s methodological meeting is the final stage of the anniversary Aitmatov events held in Russia and at the same time the first stage of preparation for the celebration of the centenary of Chingiz Aitmatov.
«The geography of the meeting participants is very extensive; these are representatives of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Uzbekistan. All this demonstrates how interesting both the personality and work of the writer are to modern scientists, writers, teachers, cultural figures and, most importantly, young people», noted Irina Kraeva.
Words of greeting to the participants of the event and congratulations on the 95th anniversary of Chingiz Aitmatov were also sent by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic A.U. Zhaparov, and Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation K.I. Mogilevsky.
The writer’s son Eldar Aitmatov expressed gratitude to all forum participants and emphasized that the cultures of Kyrgyzstan and Russia are closely intertwined in the work of Chingiz Aitmatov.
«He himself always emphasized that he grew up in two languages. Knowledge of Kyrgyz and Russian and other languages only enriches the individual and allows him to develop in all directions».
As part of the international forum «Aitmatov readings», it is planned to hold plenary sessions, discussions, discussions about the role and significance of the work of Chingiz Aitmatov, and a presentation of the book «Phraseological World of Ch.T. Aitmatova», summing up the results of the video and monologue competition.
The event is being implemented with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation within the framework of the project «Development of a system of interdisciplinary scientific and educational approaches to the work of Chingiz Aitmatov in the cultural space of the CIS countries and in world artistic culture».
