KRSU discussed the prospects for cooperation with Altai State University
A meeting was held at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University with representatives of Altai State University, where prospects for cooperation in the field of archeology, Turkology and the study of museum collections were discussed.
On behalf of KRSU, the meeting was attended by Vice-Rector for Youth and Information Policy Stanislav Kulikov, Head of the Educational and Methodological Museum Complex Vasily Ploskikh and Director of the Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage Leonid Sumarokov. A tour of the archaeological museum of the university, which houses unique artifacts from the Turkic period, was organized for guests.
The Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University and Altai State University have a long-term cooperation. One of the key joint initiatives is the Scientific and Educational Center for Altaic and Turkic Studies «Greater Altai». The center is recognized in the world Turkological community and is engaged in the preservation and popularization of the cultural heritage of the Turkic-speaking peoples of Russia and Central Asia.
Since 2023, REC «Greater Altai» has been implementing the project «Virtual Museum «Altai — homeland of the Turks» with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science. The project aims to create digital copies of artifacts from the Turkic period, integrate them and prepare 3D models.
During the meeting, the possibility of participation of the archaeological museum KRSU in this project was considered. The university's unique collection can become a significant part of the virtual exhibition, providing access to the rich heritage of Turkic culture at the international level.
