KRSU discussed the legal support of religious activities in Kyrgyzstan
Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies named after Academician A.Ch. Kakeeva conducted Religious Studies Readings on the topic «Legal support for religious activities in Kyrgyzstan». The main purpose of the event was to discuss the draft new edition of the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic «On Freedom of Religion and Religious Associations in the Kyrgyz Republic».
Leading scientists and experts took part in the discussion: Deputy Director of the State Commission for Religious Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Midin uulu Kanat, Vice-Rector for Development and Investment of Ala-Too University Ismailov Nurlan Asanovich, Associate Professor of the Department of International Relations of the Kyrgyz-Turkish University Manas Chotaev Zakir Zhenishbekovich, expert and human rights activist Abdirasulova Gulshayir, as well as teachers of the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies of the Faculty of Humanities and the Department of International and Constitutional Law of the Faculty of Law KRSU.
During the readings, key issues of the new legislative framework in the field of freedom of religion and the activities of religious associations were discussed. Particular attention was paid to the integration of religious studies education into the educational system of Kyrgyzstan, the need to improve legislation to ensure continuity of policy in the religious sphere, as well as the protection of citizens' rights within the framework of ensuring national security and law and order.
Participants noted the importance of consolidating the efforts of scientists, human rights defenders and government agencies to create conditions that will harmoniously combine freedom of religion with the objectives of sustainable development of society.
