KRSU discussed admission 2026, personnel reserve and development of university infrastructure
The traditional dean's meeting was held at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B. N. Yeltsin, chaired by Rector Sergei Volkov. The agenda includes — issues of the 2026 admissions campaign, academic debts, personnel reserves, digitalization, scientific activities and infrastructure development.
The discussion took place in a working format with the participation of vice-rectors, deans of faculties and heads of structural divisions.
Rector Sergei Volkov noted that the task of the current stage is — building a systematic approach to the development of the university, where each faculty is responsible for high-quality work with students, partners and the school community.

We are shaping a modern academic ecosystem where career guidance, human resources policy, digital solutions and infrastructure work as one. This is the path to sustainable growth of KRSU», — emphasized the rector of KRSU Sergei Volkov.
Vice-Rector for Scientific Activities Evgeny Shekunov presented the schedule of a career guidance campaign, including trips to the regions: October 20–24 — Chui region, October 27 and 31 — Osh, November 3 and 7 — Batken. It is planned to assign schools and specialized classes to each faculty to eliminate duplication of routes and expand the geography of enrollment, including in the Naryn and Talas regions.
Special attention was paid to master's issues and the formation of a personnel reserve. There was a proposal to more actively involve undergraduates in teaching work on a 0.5 rate basis, which will allow students to accumulate teaching experience while still studying. This will create the basis for subsequent employment of graduates at the university.
The Vice-Rector for Educational Activities recalled the adjustment to the MIGA regulations. Students without debts are allowed to participate in the final interdisciplinary certification in three key subjects: Kyrgyz language and literature, history and geography of Kyrgyzstan. There is a possibility of retaking, but no more than twice. Remedial courses will be organized to help students.
During the discussion, it was noted that each faculty should shape the media agenda and actively highlight the achievements of teachers and students. The university press service will strengthen monitoring of the activity of faculty communities.
In terms of digitalization, it has been confirmed that electronic courses are gradually being transferred to the Moodle platform. The deans have been instructed to update the list of responsible persons and ensure that the educational materials are up to date.
The infrastructure unit reported that the installation of the heating system on the buildings at Chui st., 42–44 — is being completed - the readiness is 90 percent. Window replacement and classroom modernization are ongoing. Deans are instructed to monitor the condition of canteens and issue comments to contractors in a working manner.
The implementation of the new university campus project was also discussed. Most faculties have already sent data for the preparation of technical specifications. The final deadline for submitting the consolidated technical specification is set for October 21. First Vice-Rector of KRSU Gulnara-Klara Samat emphasized that the project is supervised at the state level and will become a strategic object of bilateral cooperation between Russia and Kyrgyzstan.
Director of the Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage Leonid Sumarokov announced the beginning of preparations for the key anniversaries of 2026 — the 40th anniversary of the Issyk-Kul International Forum, the 65th anniversary of the first flight into space, the 85th anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War and the centenary of Chingiz Aitmatov. Faculties were invited to include initiatives in the plan of scientific and cultural events.
The results of the meeting were summed up by the rector of KRSU Sergei Volkov, noting that the university is consistently building a unified development strategy — from human and scientific potential to infrastructure and new formats of interaction with society. Protocol orders and deadlines have been sent to dean’s offices and departments for implementation.
