A forum has opened at KRSU «Aitmatov Readings – 2024»
On December 3–4, 2024, the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B. N. Yeltsin became a platform for the forum «Aitmatov Readings – 2024». The event brought together participants from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and other CIS countries. The forum was organized by the Moscow State Linguistic University and KRSU with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
The forum is aimed at in-depth study of the creative heritage of Chingiz Aitmatov with an emphasis on strengthening cooperation between the CIS countries in the educational, scientific and cultural spheres. The discussions focused on the promotion of Russian culture and language, as well as the preservation of spiritual and moral values in the digital era.
Participants in the scientific block discussed interdisciplinary approaches to the study of Aitmatov’s work, his role in world culture and the educational environment. Particular attention was paid to the development of Aitmat studies as a scientific direction in the CIS countries.
The forum included unique events, including a multimedia literary lounge «Chingiz Aitmatov and youth of the 21st century». The guests visited the exhibition «Chingiz Aitmatov and world artistic culture», the final of the media competition «Reading Aitmatov in the languages of the world», a public talk about the writer’s legacy in the digital era and a literary open microphone.
The project partners were Bishkek State University named after K. Karasaev, the House-Museum of Chingiz Aitmatov, the Moscow City Pedagogical University, as well as Rossotrudnichestvo. Participants noted the warm atmosphere and high level of organization.
