The 1st International Scientific Expert Forum named after N.M. opened at KRSU. Przhevalsky
November 19 at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B.N. Yeltsin, the opening of the 1st International Scientific and Expert Forum named after N.M. took place. Przhevalsky — a large-scale discussion platform dedicated to issues of Eurasian integration, common historical memory and the development of scientific cooperation in the Greater Eurasian space.
The forum is held with the financial support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. Event organizers:

N.M. Przhevalsky KRSU– RGGU, Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences on complex problems of history and culture of modern Eurasia, as well as the Russian Society of Historians and Archivists.
At the grand opening, Nikolai Kudryavtsev, Advisor to the Rector of KRSU, Special Representative of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, delivered a welcoming speech, emphasizing the strategic importance of the forum:
«This is the most important event, which continues a series of large scientific platforms organized jointly with the Russian State University for the Humanities and with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. First forum named after N.M. Przhevalsky takes place precisely at KRSU, and therefore special attention is paid to the history of Kyrgyz-Russian friendship, common cultural heritage and a wide range of issues of our cooperation. We will have meaningful discussions, interesting reports and expert discussions».
As part of the opening, a speech by Konstantin Mogilevsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, dedicated to the historical and symbolic significance of the forum, was also announced:
«Przewalski's legacy is rightly associated with the exploits of millions of our ancestors, who together went through the most difficult trials and achieved great achievements. Eighty years ago, our peoples defended the right to life and freedom shoulder to shoulder in the Great Patriotic War and saved the world from the brown plague. Today at the forum issues related to the prospects for the development of Russian-Kyrgyz relations, common historical memory and the role of scientific diplomacy will be discussed. I am convinced that the forum will become a new stage in strengthening cooperation between our countries».
Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, scientific director of the Russian State University for the Humanities Efim Pivovar made an online address to the participants, noting that the forum opens a new stage of cooperation between the two universities and expands the humanitarian agenda of Russia and Kyrgyzstan.
The chief specialist of the department of higher, secondary vocational and postgraduate education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Khadicha Shambetalieva, emphasized that the forum is becoming an important platform for the formation of joint projects:
«It is an effective environment where bold ideas and solutions are formed in the areas of economics, ecology, security, digital development and humanitarian cooperation. We highly appreciate the desire to pool the intellectual resources of our countries».
Key reports were made at the plenary session of the Forum.
Leonid Sumarokov, director of the Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage KRSU, presented the topic «Heritage of N.M. Przhevalsky as a bridge between the cultures and sciences of Russia and Kyrgyzstan». In his speech, he emphasized the historical significance of Przhevalsky’s travels and cited Anton Chekhov’s bright lines about the role of ascetics of science — words that still sound relevant today.
Alexander Levchenkov made a report «Common historical memory as an element in the formation of a common humanitarian space between Russia and Kyrgyzstan», noting that joint historical stories are the foundation of trust and strategic interaction.
Almaz Nasyrov, director of the Institute of Strategic Analysis and Forecast KRSU, presented the topic «Strategic prospects for Eurasian integration» — with an emphasis on economic cooperation and new models of interstate cooperation in the region.
After the plenary part, the forum will continue to work in three thematic sections:
1. Kyrgyz-Russian relations in the context of integration processes in Eurasia
2. Common historical memory and common history of the peoples of Kyrgyzstan, Russia and the CIS countries
3. Scientific diplomacy of Kyrgyzstan, Russia and the CIS
On November 20, guest lectures for students of the economics and humanities faculties and a strategic session will be held «Roadmap for Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation: from ideas to implementation».
The forum will become a platform where they will discuss not only the results of the past, but also the formation of guidelines for the future: from understanding common historical memory to developing practical mechanisms for scientific diplomacy and integration projects.
Launch of the forum named after N.M. Przhevalsky at KRSU was an important step in the development of Russian-Kyrgyz cooperation: he opened a new tradition of expert meetings that will regularly bring together researchers from the two countries and contribute to strengthening trust, mutual understanding and scientific partnership in the Eurasian space.
