A student history club «Berkut» opened at KRSU
The opening of the student historical club «Berkut» took place at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University.
The club was created at the Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage KRSU and will become a platform for the implementation of student research initiatives, scientific and cultural educational events. It is symbolic that his activities started in the year of celebrating the 200th anniversary of the birth of the famous traveler and scientist Pyotr Petrovich Semenov-Tyan-Shansky.
The name of the club was not chosen by chance: in Kyrgyz culture, the golden eagle personifies strength, wisdom and the preservation of traditions. The university emphasized that the club’s symbols reflect its mission — to preserve historical memory and develop intercultural dialogue. Yulia Novalishena, a student at the Department of International Journalism, was elected chairman of the student association.
The opening took place online and brought together students, teachers and invited guests from Kyrgyzstan and Russia. Among the participants — Chairman of the Board «Semenovsky Charitable Society» Alexander Semenov-Tyan-Shansky, teacher at the Academy of Arts named after I. Repin Evgeniy Tuniy, as well as full member of the Russian Geographical Society Vladimir Dervenev.
Director of the Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage KRSU Leonid Sumarokov, speaking at the opening, emphasized: «We forget history, and this needs to be changed. That is why the student history club» was created.
Vice-Rector for Youth and Information Policy Stanislav Kulikov noted that the creation of the club will be an important step to involve students in research activities and strengthen international ties.
The opening of the club «Berkut» became a landmark event in the scientific and cultural life of KRSU, emphasizing the university’s desire to support student initiatives and preserve historical heritage.
