The Olympiad in Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery was held at KRSU
An Olympiad dedicated to the 85th anniversary of RAE Academician, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor KRSU and KSMA named after. AND. K. Akhunbaeva Syrgi Bokonbaeva.
Four teams of 4th-6th year students took part in the Olympiad. Participants went through several stages that tested theoretical knowledge, clinical thinking, practical skills, decision-making speed and teamwork skills.
Students presented presentations about outstanding representatives of surgery, competed in an intellectual quiz and «Medical Alias», analyzed situational problems and X-rays. In the practical part, participants demonstrated their skills in providing first aid to a child using mannequins.
The Olympiad ended with a surgical relay race - participants had to perform an impromptu «appendectomy» on a tangerine. Each team member could only complete their part of the task for one minute, after which they passed the baton to the next.
Based on the results of the Olympiad:
I place - team «Consilium»
II place - «Vita pueri»
III-IV places - «Manus Vitae» and «Diagnosis: Pediatrics»
In conclusion, Vladimir Poroshchay and Kalybek Mykyev presented their teaching aids to the participants.
