The Olympiad «Chemistry – ally of medicine» was held at KRSU

The Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University hosted a student Olympiad «Chemistry – ally of medicine», dedicated to Chemist's Day. The event was held at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Faculty of Medicine as part of the KRSU Medical Science Days.Participants in the intellectual competition were 1–2 year students of specialties «General Medicine» and «Pediatrics», who showed high results in studying the disciplines of the department. Four teams competed for the victory: «DNA Keepers», «Sugar Movement», «Lipid Alliance» and «Fermenters».The Olympics combined intellectual and creative challenges. The teams presented original business cards, took part in a chemical quiz, a practical tour on substance recognition, a thematic crossword puzzle solution and a captain's competition. Additional points were brought to the participants by support groups that prepared models on the topic «Chemistry in Medicine».Throughout the event, students demonstrated not only deep knowledge in chemistry and biochemistry, but also the ability to work in a team, find non-standard solutions and be creative in completing tasks. Of particular interest was the final stage — homework, during which the teams presented theatrical performances focusing on the body's basic biochemical processes.At the end of the Olympiad, the Grand Prix winner was the team «DNA Keepers» of the specialty «General Medicine». First degree diploma won «Lipid Alliance», second degree — team «Sugar Movement», third degree — team «Fermenters» specialty «Pediatrics».Participants were also awarded special nominations and received memorable diplomas, certificates and additional rating points in specialized disciplines.The jury members highly appreciated the level of preparation of the students, their erudition, creativity and interest in studying basic medical sciences.
