A thematic meeting on the Nuremberg Tribunal was held at KRSU

Today at KRSU a meeting was held dedicated to one of the key events in world history — Nuremberg Tribunal, which laid the foundation for international law in the field of responsibility for crimes against humanity.

Leonid Sumarokov, Director of the Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage KRSU, spoke in detail about the prerequisites for the creation of the tribunal, its progress, decisions and their impact on the modern world. He emphasized that the significance of Nuremberg cannot be considered in isolation from the tragedy of the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War — from the scale of destruction, human casualties and the struggle of peoples against totalitarianism.

The speaker noted that the tribunal has become not only legal, but also a moral guideline, recalling how important it is to protect human dignity, the values of peace and international security.

The meeting concluded with a discussion where students asked questions about the causes and consequences of war, historical lessons, and why the memory of the Nuremberg trials remains critical in the 21st century.
