KRSU hosted a video conference with St. Petersburg Polytechnic University on environmental safety issues in Issyk-Kul
A video conference was held at the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Construction of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University with representatives of the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. The meeting was dedicated to the implementation of a joint project «Environmental safety of Lake Issyk-Kul and the Issyk-Kul Basin».
The following topics were brought up by KRSU:
Fluctuations in water level in Lake Issyk-Kul and their impact on the coastal zone.
Analysis of the modern species composition of flora and fauna of the Issyk-Kul Basin.
Anthropogenic influence on the reduction of sea buckthorn thickets in the coastal zone.
Representatives of SPbPU proposed for discussion:
Possibility of access to state monitoring data of the lake and basin.
Involvement of KRSU specialists in water supply and sewerage, as well as analysis of their laboratory base and research.
Question of joint publications in Scopus journals for grant application.
The parties agreed on the need for cooperation on the issues raised in the project. In the future, work is planned on data collection and analysis, as well as the publication of scientific materials for submitting grant applications.
The project «Environmental safety of Lake Issyk-Kul and the Issyk-Kul Basin» is aimed at studying and solving environmental problems of the region, and its implementation will be an important step in the scientific interaction between KRSU and SPbPU.
