At KRSU, Russian and Kyrgyz experts discussed the problems of the green economy
On October 25, in the conference hall of the main building of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, at the initiative of the Russian International Affairs Council, a round table was held «Green Economy of the EAEU: Challenges and Prospects».
The event was opened by acting Rector of KRSU Denis Fomin-Nilov. He noted that the problems of the «green» economy in modern society require a comprehensive solution to the risks associated with the negative impact of resource use on the human environment.
– The topic of the round table is extremely important. Today, our task, as a scientific community, is to comprehensively analyze current issues of the «green» economy, compare the experience of advanced countries and draw conclusions.
Dean of the Faculty of Economics Natalya Brovko told the round table participants about the International Scientific and Pedagogical School «Green Economy and Sustainable Development», operating on the basis of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic Faculty:
–The environmental problems of modern resource use provide impetus for the development of a «green» worldview at all levels of education.
That is why the discipline «Green Economy» was introduced at the Faculty of Economics of our university. Plans – to read this subject in all faculties and for all study programs studies presented at the university, as well as for schoolchildren. We have developed a textbook called «Green Economy and Sustainable Development of the EAEU Countries», which was published under the heading of the Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic. We hope that the new subject will soon be included in the school curriculum. Currently, active work is underway to develop a modular program on «Green Economy» for schoolchildren, the approval of which we expect to receive from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic. We have no doubt that today’s discussion will make it possible to make important additions to the materials on the discipline «Green Economy», taking into account current changes and global trends.
Offline and online, the round table participants discussed the experience of regional powers and associations related to the transition to a «green» economy, harmonization of legislation in the field of «green» energy in the non-Western world, institutional, financial and technological capabilities and limitations of the implementation of the Eurasian «green» course, prospects for interaction between Russia and Kyrgyzstan in the field of green economy, risks and challenges of its development in the Eurasian space, etc.
The round table was attended by RIAC General Director Ivan Timofeev, representatives of the EEC, leading economists and teachers from MGIMO, Moscow State University. M. Lomonosov and the National Research University Higher School of Economics, research institutes, representatives of the business community of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as key organizations of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation in the promotion and development of «green» technologies in the EAEU space.
