A meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council: Science, Innovation and Continuity was held at KRSU
A meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council was held at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, chaired by Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovation Activities Evgeniy Shekunov. The agenda includes — the results of research work for 10 months of 2025, the development of applied projects, personnel issues of graduate and doctoral studies, as well as preparations for Science Day of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The meeting began with the ceremonial awarding of the winners of the Research Competition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War «The Great Feat of a Great People». The winners received diplomas and valuable prizes from the university: a tablet, a smartphone and a smart watch.
—This competition not only unites young researchers, but also preserves the living connection between generations and helps to cultivate patriotism through science," noted Vice-Rector Evgeny Shekunov.
Next, reports were heard from two key research institutes KRSU — Institute of Strategic Analysis and Forecasting (ISAP) and the Institute for the Prevention of Destructiveness and Extremism among Youth (IPDEM).
IPDEM director Bermet Tugelbaeva presented a report on the work done: during the year, the institute organized a series of round tables and seminars for school teachers and students in the southern regions of Kyrgyzstan, and developed a methodological manual «Fundamentals of destructive behavior and its prevention in the school environment». Particular attention is paid to primary prevention — the formation of an anti-extremist and anti-terrorist worldview among students.
—It is important not just to fight manifestations of destructive behavior, but to prevent them through education and upbringing," Tugelbaeva emphasized.
In turn, ISAP Director Arslan Nasyrov noted that over the ten months of 2025, the institute prepared 34 analytical materials, including research for government agencies. Among them are — a comparative analysis of the education systems of Kyrgyzstan and Russia, as well as analytical notes on the issues of mortality of schoolchildren and the transition to 12-year education.
Particular attention at the council was paid to the implementation of research projects in partnership with LLC «Altyn Alliance». As Evgeny Shekunov noted, this pilot project became the first major example of applied cooperation between the university and industrial companies.
—For us, this is not just an experience of fulfilling an order, but a step towards systematic interaction with the industry. Such projects form the image of the university as a serious scientific center capable of solving real production problems," the vice-rector emphasized.
Other issues on the agenda include — approval of dissertation topics for PhD students, updating the calendar plan of the department for supporting educational programs, recommendations for publishing scientific works, as well as preparing events for Science Day.
At the meeting, it was also decided to rename the International Scientific and Practical School «Green Economy and Sustainable Development» to «Lean Manufacturing and Sustainable Development», which reflects the university’s strategic course towards introducing the principles of lean management and increasing the efficiency of scientific activities.
Concluding the meeting, Evgeny Shekunov noted:
— Science at the university should become not only an academic, but also an economic driver. It is important for us to learn how to earn money with our intelligence, to offer solutions that are in demand by the country and society.
The next meeting of the NTS is scheduled for November and will be devoted to the results of the year and projects for 2026.
