KRSU hosted a meeting of the Board of Trustees: results of 2025 and strategic partnerships for the future

On January 30, a meeting of the Board of Trustees was held at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B. N. Yeltsin, during which the results of the university’s activities for 2025 were summed up and key areas of development for 2026 were identified. The meeting became not only a reporting platform, but also a point for recording new strategic partnerships of the university with government and large industrial structures.

Before the meeting, members of the Board of Trustees and invited guests got acquainted with the infrastructure of the main building of KRSU. The review program included a presentation of a video about the university, a screening of the trailer for the film «Saving the Immortal», created with the participation of KRSU, a demonstration of the layout of the new university campus, as well as photo exhibitions reflecting the stages of transformation of the university and the results of cooperation with the business community.

The meeting was opened by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of KRSU Kamchybek Tashiev. The head of the Office of the President of the Russian Federation for Strategic Partnership and Cooperation, Vadim Titov, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of KRSU as a key platform for humanitarian and technological cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Russia.

The main report on the results of the university’s activities for 2025 was made by the rector of KRSU Sergei Volkov. He presented the results of work in key educational, scientific and infrastructure areas, as well as the results of interaction with members of the Board of Trustees and partner organizations.

Objects and projects implemented with the participation of trustees and partners were shown to the meeting participants in a video connection format. Among them are — a personalized auditorium of the Eurasian Development Bank, a joint department of protection in emergency situations with the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic, the KRSU clinic, opened with the support of LLC «Altyn Alliance», a hydropower project office with the participation of the state corporation «Rosatom», a student design bureau created jointly with Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University and the construction company «Irbis-Kurulush», as well as a training laboratory on robotics and unmanned aerial vehicles opened jointly with the company «Geoscan».

A separate block of the meeting was devoted to the implementation of the project for the construction of a new campus KRSU. As a result of the discussion, a report on the results of the university’s activities for 2025 was approved.

Continuing the meeting, the rector of KRSU presented promising projects for 2026. Priorities include — development of the university’s infrastructure, expansion of interaction with trustees, opening branches of KRSU in the regions of the Kyrgyz Republic, support for student startups, as well as the creation of the Russian-Kyrgyz vocational training center in Bishkek and St. Petersburg. The presented plan was supported and approved by members of the Board of Trustees.

The final stage of the meeting was the signing ceremony of cooperation documents, which recorded the transition from framework agreements to practical mechanisms for implementing joint projects.

The key event was the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between KRSU and the State Corporation «Rosatom». The document regulates the development of joint educational, scientific and engineering initiatives, as well as the participation of the corporation in the university’s infrastructure projects.

The central element of interaction will be the functioning of a hydropower project office based on KRSU, whose activities in the future are aimed at introducing additive technologies and digital innovations in the renewable energy sector of the Kyrgyz Republic. Within the framework of this area, it is planned to use metal 3D printing for the production and repair of hydroelectric power station equipment, prepare feasibility studies and design documentation, which is inextricably linked with the process of developing new generation engineering competencies.

The agreement involves not only technological exchange, but also the systemic integration of KRSU students and teachers into the production and project cycles of the corporation. The project office acts as an intellectual and engineering hub, combining the scientific base of the university and industrial expertise «Rosatom». Such synergy contributes to solving problems of ensuring technological sovereignty and training specialized personnel for the country’s energy sector. An agreement on cooperation was also signed within the framework of the project «Russian-Kyrgyz Vocational Training Center» between PJSC «Kirov Plant», St. Petersburg Academy of Mechanical Engineering named after Zh. Ya. Kotin and KRSU. The document is aimed at the development of dual and network education, early career guidance, organization of internships and employment of graduates, as well as the formation of continuous educational routes from secondary vocational to higher education.

During the meeting, roadmaps for cooperation between KRSU and the State Tax Service under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and Gazprom Kyrgyzstan were approved. They provide for the development of human resources, practical training of students, advanced training of specialists, implementation of additional professional education programs, as well as joint work on educational and scientific initiatives.

In addition, a memorandum was signed with Wildberries (LLC «WB KEIJI»), aimed at developing educational programs, developing digital and entrepreneurial competencies among students, as well as integrating the university into the e-commerce ecosystem.

The decisions taken at the meeting recorded the transition of KRSU to a long-term development model focused on the integration of education, science and the real sector of the economy. The Board of Trustees confirmed its readiness to continue to participate in the formation of the university’s strategic priorities, ensuring its sustainable development and strengthening the role of KRSU as one of the key educational centers in the region.

Role and tasks of the Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees of KRSU is a collegial advisory body promoting the strategic development of the university. Its activities are aimed at solving key problems of the development of KRSU in the best traditions of classical universities, forming a university as a center for training highly qualified specialists capable of solving fundamental and applied problems at the level of modern requirements.

The Council also plays an important role in expert and consulting support for the university, promoting the introduction of the latest information and pedagogical technologies and increasing the competitiveness of KRSU in the national and international markets of educational and scientific and applied services.

The Board of Trustees may include representatives of state, federal and local executive authorities, business, financial and scientific circles, the media, public associations, enterprises and organizations, including foreign partners, as well as representatives of the university itself.
