A meeting of the Academic Council: development strategies, personnel decisions and key guidelines of the university was held at KRSU
A regular meeting of the Academic Council was held at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, chaired by Vice-Rector for Educational Activities Marina Yurchenko. The agenda included issues of personnel policy, development of faculties, improvement of educational programs and updating the regulatory framework of the university.
The meeting began with a ceremonial part. Employees of the Department of Ecology and Protection in Emergency Situations were presented with departmental awards from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic for their contribution to the development of military-civil cooperation. After this, a ceremony was held to present state diplomas of the Russian Federation to graduate school graduates who had completed training programs for scientific and pedagogical personnel.
A significant block of the meeting was the presentation of the development strategy of the Faculty of Medicine. The project includes the creation of a university clinic, the launch of a modern simulation center, the formation of a biomedical cluster and the development of research infrastructure. The report caused active discussion, including issues of human resources, structural changes and the formation of new laboratories.
Rector of KRSU Sergei Volkov, joining the meeting online, noted the importance of a systematic approach to the development of the faculty and emphasized the need to train personnel for future projects:
«You are a great fellow. And the medical department is changing — we feel and see it. Taking into account the strategy that you have prescribed, I completely agree, we have already discussed this. I have one question: where will we get the footage? Now staffing is the most pressing issue. The number of laboratories is decreasing, and administrative support staff are becoming more numerous. This needs to be carefully reviewed. Teachers who want to develop in new directions need to be retrained and international experts attracted, especially at the formation stage. We train personnel primarily for ourselves. It is especially impossible to develop new areas without young people. We need to be friends with engineers and IT specialists. As soon as the artificial intelligence laboratory starts working, we will see a multiple increase in the number of talented guys. We need to carefully monitor active students: those who work in scientific circles, student teams, trade union bureaus —they will be our replacement».
The rector also supported the proposal to create mentoring courses and noted that the system for training future specialists should begin at school.
During the meeting, strategies for the development of interfaculty departments and the KRSU college were considered. The college presented plans to increase the student population, expand the list of educational programs and modernize infrastructure until 2030. Special attention is paid to the development of the material and technical base and strengthening practice-oriented training.
The Academic Council also approved the updated Regulations on the Academic Council and the Regulations of its work, considered the issues of renaming the department of information and computing technologies, publishing a monograph and appointing the head of the master's program «Legal Fundamentals of Public Service».
As a result of the meeting, the presented strategies and personnel decisions were approved. The management emphasized that the initiatives discussed are aimed at strengthening the educational potential of KRSU, developing scientific schools and improving the quality of training of specialists.
