The final screening of sketches within the framework of the project «Director's Laboratory» took place at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University.The project is being implemented with the support of the Union of Theater Workers of the Russian Federation and is aimed at developing Russian theater abroad and supporting young directors.During the week, directors from leading theater schools worked with actors of the Youth Slavic Theater «MOST», creating stage sketches based on works of Russian classics. The result was three productions — interpretations of the works of Anton Chekhov and Denis Fonvizin: «Bear», «Minor» and «Confession».Advisor to the rector of KRSU Nikolay Kudryavtsev emphasized the importance of the project for the university:«This event brings together creative energy, professional search and a sincere love for the theater. The implementation of such projects confirms the importance of developing Russian theater abroad and supporting young directors».The head of Rossotrudnichestvo in Kyrgyzstan, Albert Zulkharneev, noted the dynamic development of the theatrical environment in Bishkek and the importance of the emergence of new creative platforms.Each show became an experiment and a search for modern artistic solutions, allowing us to take a fresh look at classical texts.The project «Director's Laboratory» is aimed at developing modern theatrical art and finding new artistic solutions. Based on the results of the work, one of the presented sketches will be further developed and will be staged as a full-fledged performance.
