The International Scientific and Practical Forum «Aitmatov Readings» has started at KRSU
On November 26, the International Scientific and Practical Forum «Aitmatov Readings» began at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, dedicated to the creative heritage of Chingiz Aitmatov and his role in the formation of a single humanitarian space of the CIS countries.
The event is being implemented with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation within the framework of the project «Development of a system of interdisciplinary scientific and educational approaches to the work of Chingiz Aitmatov in the cultural space of the CIS countries and in world artistic culture».
Organizers of the forum – Moscow State Linguistic University and Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B.N. Yeltsin with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science.
The purpose of the forum is – generalization and expert discussion of the best practices for a comprehensive study of the legacy of Chingiz Aitmatov in the interests of strengthening the unified humanitarian academic space of the CIS, promoting the spiritual and moral values of classical literature in the modern digital environment, as well as popularizing the Russian language as a language of interethnic communication.
The project is aimed at comprehensively unlocking the potential of Aitmatov’s creative heritage in the field of education, science, enlightenment and education of youth, as well as strengthening cooperation between the CIS member states.
The forum is attended by scientists, teachers and experts in the humanities from Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia and other CIS countries, as well as representatives of friendly states.
Advisor to the rector of the university Nikolai Kudryavtsev delivered a welcoming speech on behalf of the management of KRSU, noting the scale of the writer’s personality:
«Chingiz Aitmatov – this is a lump, an authority for all times. His work continues to unite our peoples and remains an inexhaustible subject for research».
He also emphasized the diplomatic dimension of Aitmatov’s personality, putting him on a par with the classic diplomats of Russian and world culture.
Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Konstantin Mogilevsky noted in a video message that «Aitmatov readings» have already become a prominent platform for humanitarian dialogue:
«The lively response that the readings find, – the best proof that Aitmatov’s works remain relevant and continue to enrich the unified humanitarian space».
The head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in the Kyrgyz Republic, Albert Zulkharneev, emphasized Aitmatov’s role as a people’s diplomat and a symbol of spiritual unity:
«The creative heritage of Chingiz Aitmatov – is a factor that unites us. Through his books we see the common destiny of our countries and the values that remain unchanged».
The opening plenary session of the forum at KRSU was held under the title: «The legacy of Chingiz Aitmatov and the development of a unified scientific and educational space of the CIS». The discussion centers on – key topics of modern Aitmat studies and the humanitarian agenda of the Commonwealth countries.
After the plenary session, the forum will continue in the format of sections: «Artistic picture of the world by Chingiz Aitmatov: mythopoetic and linguistic-cultural aspects», «Creative heritage of Chingiz Aitmatov in world artistic culture», «Chingiz Aitmatov in the modern educational space».
Special emphasis is placed on research by young scientists and student projects, reflecting the importance of continuity in the humanities.
On November 27, the forum will continue to work at the site of the Kyrgyz National University named after Zh. Balasagyn.
«Aitmatov readings» at KRSU became not only a continuation of the anniversary initiatives of 2023, but also an important step in preparation for the 100th anniversary of Chingiz Aitmatov.
The holding of the forum in Bishkek, at the sites of KRSU and KNU named after Zh. Balasagyn, once again emphasizes the special role of Kyrgyzstan as the writer’s homeland and an important center of humanitarian cooperation in the Eurasian space.
