KRSU kicked off the «Green» Economy Week
Today, February 14, a week of «green» economics started at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University as part of events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the university. The first event to open the week was the International Scientific and Practical Forum «Green Economy and Sustainable Development». It will last until February 17. And from February 16 to 18, the Winter School for students and schoolchildren will be held «Green Economy and the main directions of its development in Kyrgyzstan».
Speaking with a welcoming speech, the rector of KRSU Vladimir Nifadiev emphasized the importance of scientists and specialists from a wide variety of study programs working on the problems of human impact on the environment.
«Green» economy – this is a volumetric concept where large forces of different directions should be involved. And any ongoing and new project created by a person must be considered from the perspective of a «green» economy. Otherwise it is simply impossible. Humanity has reached a critical impact on the environment. If we do not reduce and minimize this factor, the consequences will be disastrous for all of us. It is gratifying that in Kyrgyzstan there are more and more citizens, public groups, and specialists who raise issues of the «green» economy and implement its principles» – noted by V. Nifadiev.
The first day of the international conference was also attended by the Deputy Head of the Department for Monitoring and Analysis of Reforms of the Department of Political and Economic Research of the Presidential Administration Shaazadan Tyumonbaev, the Head of the Science Department of the Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic Zhyldyzbek Zhakshylykov and others.
It is important to note that scientists from Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, and China arrived to participate in the forum.
As part of «Green» Week, an exhibition of works by photographer and environmental activist Vlad Ushakov is also open on the second floor of the main building of KRSU.
