Regional ICPC programming competitions have started at KRSU

On November 2, regional competitions of the ICPC (International Collegiate Programming Contest) student world championship in programming began at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. This prestigious international competition, organized by ICPC Global, has brought together the best student programmers from around the world since 1977. The event is attended by teams from leading universities in Kyrgyzstan that have successfully passed the qualifying stage.

At the opening of the competition, the participants and guests were greeted by the acting rector of KRSU Sergei Volkov. In his speech, he noted the importance of these competitions not only for the university, but also for the entire IT industry of Kyrgyzstan: «Holding the regional stage of ICPC — is a unique opportunity for our students to show their knowledge and skills in competition. Such competitions contribute to the development of creative thinking, teamwork skills and help draw attention to the training of qualified IT specialists in Kyrgyzstan».

ICPC— is the largest student programming championship, and for over 20 years universities in CIS countries, including Kyrgyzstan, have been part of the Northern Eurasia Super Region (NERC). These competitions help students develop their abilities in a highly competitive environment, giving them excellent opportunities for future IT careers.

46 teams from various universities in Kyrgyzstan, such as the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, the American University in Central Asia, the Osh University of Technology and others, are participating in the competition. The competition takes place at the KRSU site, where an intensive program is provided for participants, including seminars and task analysis.
