In memory of the luminaries of economic science: the VIII Kumskov Readings were held at KRSU
On September 29, traditional Kumskov readings took place in the conference hall of the main building of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University.
The international scientific and practical conference was organized by staff and teachers of the Faculty of Economics, and the topic in 2023 was: «Industrial policy and technological sovereignty».
As part of the event, a presentation of a collective monograph «Industrial policy in the context of technological limitations of the Kyrgyz Republic» took place (edited by M. Kudaykulov and K. Khubiev, 2nd edition, 2023); experts and scientists made reports on roles industrial policy for countries with economies in transition, the main stages of implementation of industrial policy in the Kyrgyz Republic, ensuring technological sovereignty and economic security of the state, modern trends in demographic development in the Kyrgyz Republic, etc.
Professors Vladimir Ivanovich Kumskov and Nailya Khasanovna Kumskova are the founders of the scientific and pedagogical school «Theoretical and methodological foundations of market transformation of the economy», which is based on the department of economic theory KRSU (Nailya Khasanovna headed this department from 1995 to 2010).
This school has trained 124 candidates and 15 doctors of economic sciences, who today effectively implement both theoretical research and practical developments for the national economy of the Kyrgyz Republic. The strategic vision of the Kumskov couple was manifested through the creation of two research divisions at the Department of Economic Theory – the Population Center at the UN Population Fund and the Analytical Center for Economic and Demographic Research –, which transferred theoretical and practical research to a new qualitative level.
