In the village named after Panfilov, work began on restoring the monument to General Ivan Panfilov
A working meeting was held in the village named after Panfilov dedicated to the restoration of the monument to the legendary commander of the 316th Infantry Division Ivan Panfilov. The monument, which has important historical significance, was in a deplorable state for a long time, and the issue of its reconstruction was repeatedly raised, but work has not yet begun.
The initiator of the restoration of the monument was the acting rector of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University Sergei Volkov. Realizing that the project required significant financial investments, the organizers turned to patrons for support.
«This monument is — a symbol of the heroic past, and its preservation is of great importance for future generations. We couldn't stay away, so we started looking for solutions. I am glad that not only local authorities, but also large enterprises in Russia responded to our call», — noted Sergei Volkov.
Among the patrons who responded were the steel plant of the Sverdlovsk region of the Russian Federation, which took upon itself the obligation to restore the monument itself. Vice Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Nurlanbek Azygaliev also supported the initiative and joined the work.
«The memory of heroes must live on. This is not just a monument, but part of our history. It is important that such monuments are preserved and remind the younger generation of the feat of their ancestors. We will do everything possible to ensure that this project is implemented as soon as possible», — Nurlanbek Azygaliev emphasized.
In addition to the monument itself, it is planned to restore the entrance stele, work on which was undertaken by local authorities. Design and estimate work is currently underway, after which the actual reconstruction of the memorial will begin.
The restoration of the monument to Ivan Panfilov will be an important event for Kyrgyzstan and will strengthen the memory of the legendary military leader, whose division played a key role in the defense of Moscow in 1941.
