An important step in the development of digital infrastructure – new server equipment has been installed in KRSU
As part of the strategic modernization of the KRSU digital ecosystem, high-performance equipment of a new generation was installed in the university server room. The total cost of solutions is several million soms, and in terms of performance and reliability it is — corporate-class infrastructure.
The update included:
Eltex ESR-1511 Router — industrial backbone routing solution with support for redundancy and channel aggregation; Eltex MES5448 and MES2448B switches — modern managed switches with support for 10G interfaces; Aquarius T50 D436FW server — powerful computing platform; QSAN XCubeSAN XS3326D data storage system — reliable solution for storing and processing large volumes of information; Next-generation UserGate VE 1000 firewall with license and Advanced Threat Protection — module for centralized network protection;
The update also includes over 50 SFP/SFP+ modules, Cabeus optical patch cords, highly reliable power supplies, Silicom network adapters, and Fujitsu server processors.
Upgrading the server infrastructure will allow KRSU:
Increase data transfer speed: The new network provides 10 Gbps channels, which will significantly increase the speed of all digital services at the university.
Ensure fault tolerance: Redundant components and dual power guarantee stable system operation even in case of failures.
Enhance security: Intelligent traffic control and protection against external threats based on UserGate will ensure reliable data protection.
Prepare for future loads: Servers and storage systems are designed for virtualization, video conferencing, document management and digital learning, which will allow the university to successfully develop in a digital environment.
KRSU especially noted the contribution of the joint team of specialists from our university and Tyumen State University, who did a great job in designing, installing, configuring and transferring services to the new infrastructure. Thanks to their professionalism and coherence, the modernization took place on time and without failures, without interrupting the educational process.
