Laying flowers at the memorial plaques of Jamankul Dzhenchuraev and Boris Vasiliev

On the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow, the director of the Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage KRSU Leonid Sumarokov and activists of the historical student club «Berkut» laid flowers at the memorial plaques of Dzhamankul Dzhenchuraev and Boris Vasiliev — Soviet border guards, who on June 22, 1941 were among the first to take the blow fascist troops on the state border of the USSR.Jamankul Dzhenchuraev met start of the war on the Polish section of the border. After the war, he continued to serve and until the end of his life lived in Bishkek at the address: Chui ave., 151, where today a memorial plaque in his honor is installed.Boris Vasiliev met the war on the Moldovan-Romanian section of the state border, serving as deputy head of the border detachment. After the war, he lived in house № 88 on Kievskaya Street in Bishkek. Today, this building also houses a plaque commemorating his feat.Preserving the memory of the heroes, KRSU students continue their important work in studying history and passing it on to new generations. The feat of the defenders of the Fatherland remains part of our common memory and national heritage.
