KRSU graduate Amina Kurenkeeva created the first children's documentary about Chingiz Aitmatov

A graduate of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, a master's student at St. Petersburg State University, Amina Kurenkeeva, in collaboration with young Kyrgyzstanis, created the first children's documentary film about the work of Chingiz Aitmatov.

While working on the film, the guys met with the writer’s relatives – his sister Roza Torekulovna and son Eldar Chingizovich. They also talked with the cinematographer of the film «White Steamship» Manasbek Musaev and professor of KRSU Leonid Sumarokov. These meetings made it possible to learn many interesting facts about Aitmatov’s personality, his story «The White Steamship» and the film adaptation of the work.

The filmmakers hope that «The Secret of the White Steamship» will soon be shown throughout Kyrgyzstan, revealing to young viewers a new look at the great writer and his legacy.
