A graduate of KRSU won an international architectural award with a sports complex project for Karakol
Graduate of the «Architecture» direction of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University Anastasia Leontyeva took first place in the «Best thesis» category of the international architectural award Säule Architekturpreis in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
She submitted a project «Multifunctional sports complex with stadium» designed for the city of Karakol to the competition. The final qualifying work was carried out under the guidance of A.V. Glazunova, associate professor of the Higher School of Architecture, Design and Construction KRSU.
The project provides for the creation of a stadium, a multifunctional sports center, an athletics arena and a dormitory for athletes. The complex also includes indoor and outdoor parking, landscaping and landscaping.
The architectural solution is based on the natural landscape of the Issyk-Kul region. The shapes of the facades and coverings of buildings refer to the silhouettes of mountain ranges.
Säule Architekturpreis brings together representatives of the architectural community of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. The award was established to support achievements in the architecture of Central Asia. It covers completed projects, concepts, student work, publications and research.
Among the evaluation criteria are – relevance of the idea, expressiveness of the architectural solution, functionality, feasibility and impact on the urban environment. Particular attention is paid to innovative approaches, sustainability and consideration of the regional context: climate, landscape, local materials and cultural identity.
