XIV International Environmental Olympiad of Universities of the CIS Countries: Success of KRSU Students
From April 14 to April 25, 2025 at the International State Ecological Institute named after A.D. Sakharov Belarusian State University hosted the XIV International Environmental Olympiad for universities in the CIS countries.
53 teams from Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan took part in this prestigious competition.
The Olympiad was held online, which allowed students from different parts of the CIS to take part in this important educational event.
From the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, 1st year master's student Damir Akmatov, as well as 3rd year students Victoria Lagunova, Amanov Nurtenir, Boobekov Bekzhan and Mirbek Kulekbaev took part in the Olympiad. The team leaders were the head of the Department of Ecology and Protection in Emergency Situations, Ph.D., Associate Professor Eric Mambetov and the leading engineer of the Department of Ecology and Protection in Emergency Situations Liya Bashmakova.
During the Olympiad, participants went through several stages: a theoretical tour on the Moodle platform, a creative competition (essay), a practical tour with a presentation of projects and «business card» of the team. All assignments were aimed at developing research and design skills in the field of ecology.
A special achievement of our team — Amanov Nurtenir of the group ZChS-1-22, who scored 83.08 points in the individual competition of the theoretical round and was awarded a III degree diploma.
Congratulations to all participants on a successful performance! This success confirms the high level of training of KRSU students in the field of ecology and protection in emergency situations.
