A living controversy
On March 16, an interuniversity scientific conference «Current Problems of Philosophy and Political Science» was held at the Faculty of Humanities of KRSU, organized by the Department of Philosophy named after. Academician A. Kakeeva.
The dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Professor Amangeldy Bekbalaev, delivered a welcoming speech to the participants, reminding them that we live in a rapidly changing dynamic world, and in these conditions, the relevance of considering philosophical issues relating to the universal aspects of human existence and society, as well as issues of politics and state are increasing with all clarity.
The head of the department, Professor Nurgul Osmonova, emphasized the practical importance of participation in conferences, since they become not only a platform for live dialogue and exchange of opinions, but also a motivation for scientific research. She also noted that the results of the conference will be published in the annual department collection of articles «Universal and National in Philosophy», and the best reports will be presented for participation in the annual competition of scientific student works.
The conference program was rich and varied. Three reports were heard at the plenary session, then the conference took place in two sections, at which another 20 presentations were heard. The first section discussed current issues in philosophy and covered a wide range of issues, ranging from debatable ones, such as the philosophy of action, the phenomenon «of man-mass» and the phenomenon of transhumanism to the classical problems of philosophy, such as alienation, freedom, responsibility, love and value.
The second section raised current issues of political science, in particular the problems of the political life of Kyrgyzstan, the practice of strategic planning and the effective use of modern information technologies in public administration, the institution of the Kurultai and the prospects for its further activities, as well as the activities of NGOs and their impact on civil society, the functioning of local self-government in our republic.
The conference program was so interesting that scientific controversy ensued between the participants. It is gratifying that interest and activity came from the students themselves. Four hours of speeches and discussions admittedly flew by, thanks to lively discussions, an informal approach by speakers to covering selected topics and a host of questions from the audience.
The conference ended with the ceremonial presentation of certificates and wishes for active participation in scientific events of the department, faculty and university.
