The Jogorku Kenesh approved in three readings a bill on the ratification of a bilateral agreement on the working conditions of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University.
The text of the new document describes in detail how the university management system is formed, which includes the governing council and the rector.
The agreement provides that the rector of the university is the sole executive governing body, appointed for a period of up to five years and cannot serve more than two terms.
The Governing Council is formed from representatives of the ministries of the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic, six people from each side. In particular, he approves the budget and approves the rector’s reports.
«Ratification of the intergovernmental agreement of our countries at the level of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic – this is another stage on the path of long-awaited changes in KRSU. I express my gratitude to the deputy corps for their comments and questions, all of them will be taken into account both in the long-term development strategy and in the current activities of the university. In the near future, the agreement will be considered by deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. The university is awaiting accelerated modernization, and, as we see, the first steps are already being taken»," noted actingrector of KRSU Denis Fomin-Nilov.
The agreement was signed in October last year. On behalf of the Russian government, the document was signed by the Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov, on behalf of Kyrgyzstan — Minister of Education and Science Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva.
Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University was founded in 1993. During this time, more than 30 thousand people became university graduates.
