On December 18, 2020, the Russian Language Institute of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after the first President of the Russian Federation B. Yeltsin invites Russian language teachers from schools in Kyrgyzstan and teachers of Russian as a foreign language to attend an interactive master class «Cultural-linguistic shock and ways to overcome it».
The expert of the event will be Vladislav Yanchenko, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Head of the Department of Methods of Teaching the Russian Language at the Institute of Philology of Moscow Pedagogical State University.
During the master class, participants will become familiar with the concept of cultural and linguistic shock, its significance in the process of learning and communicating in a non-native language, study the factors influencing the process of adaptation in a foreign language environment, and receive recommendations from an expert on overcoming cultural and linguistic shock in lessons Russian as a non-native and foreign language.
For Kyrgyzstan, issues of cultural and linguistic adaptation are currently becoming increasingly relevant. It is due, on the one hand, to the narrowing of the Russian-speaking space, on the other, – the active policy of the state to deepen integration processes within the Eurasian Economic Union and the growing demand for education in Russian. In addition, the higher education system of Kyrgyzstan with Russian as the language of instruction remains one of the most attractive in the post-Soviet space for citizens of non-CIS countries: currently 40 thousand foreigners from 60 countries study here.
The meeting will take place 18 December 2020 at 4 pm on the platform ZOOM. Registration of participants will take place until December 16 by email institut_russ@mail.ru. At the end of the event, all participants will receive electronic certificates.
