Bishkek solo in «Voice»
It seems that solo singers from Kyrgyzstan have already traditionally and firmly established themselves in the international musical television project «Voice».
Perhaps we began to, as they say, «root» for them most closely, starting with the memorable performance of the Kyrgyz Kairat Primberdiev in the 2016 final, where our fellow countryman, and now an honored artist, performed brilliantly in the team of the famous Russian singer and musical mentor of the project «Voice» Dima Bilan and eventually became the winner of the third prize of the competition.
Then another Kyrgyz vocalist Nurzhigit Subankulov performed in this popular project (2019) – team of Valery Meladze), who was able to reach the quarterfinals in the creative lists. And last year, in the tenth anniversary start of the project, our country was represented by a young singer from Bishkek, Alexander Volkodav (as part of the Pelageya singing team) and was able to become the owner of first place. An enchanting success before this performance of a provincial performer practically unknown to the general public!
Many music fans were looking forward to what the current season of the show project would bring us. And the wait more than lived up to our hopes! In the opening concert (at a blind audition), the very first to perform was the 27-year-old singer, KRSU graduate Vladislav Zotov, who performed the song «Kostroma» by the popular Russian group «Ivan Kupala» in such a way that already in the middle of the first verse one of the mentors turned to him Polina Gagarina, and then two other mentors of the project joined her – Basta and Vladimir Presnyakov Jr. And Anton Belyaev – the fourth mentor of the new project (a famous producer, musician and presenter) expressed his admiration for the Kyrgyz man’s singing after its completion, saying that Zotov did everything 100 percent in his solo performance of the song. Pelageya generally called the Kyrgyz performance stunning, noting the timbre of his voice and the presentation of the song’s composition. So, perhaps, it’s not for nothing that they say that it’s more difficult and... easier to be the first to perform on stage.
Who is he, our new hero, who wonderfully defended the honor of Kyrgyzstan on the prestigious stage of the «Voice» project? Vladislav Zotov is 27 years old. He has been singing since childhood, making his debut at the age of seven.
However, the parents predicted a different profession for the guy, insisting on entering the Faculty of Economics of KRSU, after which he acquired the now prestigious profession of a marketer. However, he did not work in this form for a day. Even during his studies, he actively participated in the work of the university drama theater under the direction of People's Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic Larisa Lyubomudrova. Vladislav successfully played the roles of Quasimodo in the musical «Notre Dame de Paris» and Alexander Vasilyevich in the classic vaudeville Alexander Sollogub «Trouble from a Tender Heart». He received an offer to become a student at the theater studio at the Bishkek Russian Drama Theater. The studio accepted the graduation performance into the repertoire, and the young actor was enrolled in its troupe. After four months of stage activity, Vlad’s parents found out about everything and accepted their son’s choice.
In 2018, Vlad left for Moscow, having entered the music academy of composer Igor Matvienko, and wrote songs in the style of pop and ethno-pop. The most popular – <TAG1>Dawn«, »She loved me«and » Ale-male«. Here he also plays in the student theater play at the Boris Shchukin Institute «These Free Butterflies».
All that is known about the singer’s personal life is that he is in love. His hobby – reading books and skiing. Vlad loves Russian and Chinese cuisines, and his favorite dishes are dumplings with mashed potatoes and crispy eggplants. And, of course, now he is actively focused on preparing for further competitive tests in the «Voice» project, and all Kyrgyzstanis will undoubtedly root for Vladislav Zotov and unanimously wish him good luck!
