KRSU initiates the restoration of the monument to Panfilov for the 80th anniversary of the Victory
On the eve of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University took the initiative to restore the monument to the Hero of the Soviet Union, Major General Ivan Vasilyevich Panfilov. The university reported this.
The monument, erected in 1972 in the village of Panfilovskoye at the expense of local residents, has fallen into disrepair over the past decades and requires urgent restoration work.
Today, a delegation of the KRSU led by acting rector Sergei Volkov visited the monument to assess its condition. During the inspection, the following was recorded:
- the pedestal is scribbled and damaged
- the cladding is crumbling
- there is no information sign
- granite slabs are broken
- the foundation is washed away by groundwater and destroyed.
