Anton Chekhov called Nikolai Przhevalsky “a man of volcanic origin”. It is not without reason that it was awarded gold medals by geographical societies of several countries. In his 49 years he has accomplished so much! What do we know about him? His diaries, research, and discoveries are still studied with interest all over the world. And everyone finds new facets in his biography and in his activities. In Kyrgyzstan, during the celebration of his 180th– anniversary, a number of meetings, quizzes, conferences were held, paintings were dedicated to him and a book was written.
