This year, the celebration of International Russian Language Day coincided with a significant date — the 225th anniversary of the birth of the genius of Russian poetry Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin. A number of ceremonial events dedicated to this big event took place at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, which lasted the whole day.
Participants of the great Pushkin holiday gathered at the monument to the poet near the main building of the university, where an extensive program of anniversary celebrations started in the early morning of June 6. The celebration began with the laying of flowers at the monument to A. Pushkin, who, by the way, also celebrated his anniversary — 25 years since its opening. Then all participants moved to the large assembly hall of the university, where the official opening of the Pushkin Festival took place, which was attended by students and teachers of KRSU, other universities in the capital and guests of the anniversary event from other regions and CIS countries.
