Vladimir Ivanovich Nifadiev – Doctor of Technical Sciences, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, Professor, Honored Scientist and Laureate of the State Prize of the Kyrgyz Republic – is a well-known and recognized specialist in the field of explosives.
He rose from engineer to director of the Research Institute of Physics and Rock Mechanics of the Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic and rector of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University.
Under his leadership and with personal participation, a methodology for studying the detonation process in polystyrene-containing explosive mixtures was developed; the name of V. Nifadiev is associated with the development of a new scientific direction – the theory of industrial explosives of low and ultra-low density.
The results of the fundamental research of Academician V. Nifadiev have significant practical value and are implemented in the form of new blasting technologies and new methods and means of explosion control.
