• Sergei Volkov, the new rector of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, is considering large-scale transformations aimed at restoring and developing the university. • The university faced serious problems, including insufficient infrastructure and poor quality of education, which Volkov noted as «a disaster». • Under Volkov's leadership, teachers' salaries increased, which helped retain staff. The average salary of teaching staff has increased to 51,000 soms. • The university plans to significantly improve its infrastructure, including renovating the main building and faculties, which has not been done for 30 years.
