The Russian language in Kyrgyzstan plays a strategic role as a means of interethnic communication and integration into the Eurasian space, said KRSU Rector Sergei Volkov at the plenary session of the forum "Bilingual Education Today: Global Challenges and Effective Practices.".
He noted that issues of language policy are of particular relevance in the context of globalization, migration, digitalization, and therefore modern education faces an important task — to form new approaches to teaching the Russian language and subjects in it, taking into account multilingualism and cultural diversity. In this context, it is the bilingual model that opens up the possibility for educators to develop in students critical thinking, creativity and the capacity for intercultural dialogue. Read more
