Slavic is more than a university...
This guiding slogan, included in the title, rightfully became the motto of the anniversary celebrations in KRSU dedicated to the 30th anniversary creation of a university that has become one of the flagships of the country's educational industry.
And the start of the celebrations was given by the opening of a large-scale, diverse exhibition, deployed at the entrance to the main building, right, as they say, under the canopy of A. Pushkin, whose majestic monument cordially invited everyone to enter the university temple of knowledge. The red ribbon symbolizing the entrance to the exhibition was cut to the melody of the symphony orchestra by the acting. First Vice-Rector of KRSU German Lotsev and Maxim Rumyantsev, Rector of the Siberian Federal University, a partner university of KRSU.
At the stands of the exhibition sections, visitors are shown the entire history of the anniversary university since its inception in Bishkek in 1993. And a landmark excursion for guests and participants of the opening ceremony was conducted by the acting. Vice-Rector for Information and Public Relations Leonid Sumarokov. And, as he noted, the exhibition contained everything that the university has achieved over the three decades of its history in the field of fruitful educational and scientific activity. The opening was attended by the deans of all seven faculties of KRSU, who also acted as guides for their section.
On September 27, 1992, President of Kyrgyzstan Askar Akayev signed a Decree on the creation of KRSU in the capital of the republic. They were presented at the exhibition exhibits by students of the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Construction, Natural Sciences and other faculties, as well as books published by the university publishing house. Today, KRSU has 7 faculties and 87 departments, and the total number of students graduated from the university has already exceeded 37 thousand, and soon, as the vice-rector explained, this figure will reach 40 thousand.
The purpose of all anniversary events was to disclose the results of the work a university created by decision of the governments of Russia and Kyrgyzstan. The program of celebrations «Slavic is more than a university» also included the premiere of a documentary film «30 years on the path of creation», the plot of which seems to sum up the thirty years of existence of KRSU and determine the prospects for its future development.
Representatives of government agencies of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation, specialists and heads of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, heads and students of partner universities and Slavic universities of the CIS, and veterans of the Kyrgyz Republic actively participated in the celebration of the anniversary. By the way, the filming of the documentary took place with the active participation of media specialists from the Siberian Federal University. A presentation of concept design works for the future university campus also took place in the format of exhibition shows. Then, in the main assembly hall, a film about the history of KRSU was shown, it was presented by L. Sumarokov and the rector of Siberian Federal University M. Rumyantsev.
