The fate of the outstanding explorer of the East Polivanov
Candidate of Historical Sciences, Vice-Rector of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University Leonid Sumarokov spoke about the release of the book «E. D. Polivanov. Unfinished linguistic symphony».
On the air of the program «Urban environment» on Sputnik Kyrgyzstan radio, Sumarokov noted that this is already the fourth book in the author’s series «Eurasian creators».
«This monograph, co-authored with my daughter, Doctor of Historical Sciences Olga Sumarokova, reveals the multifaceted activities of the Russian and Soviet linguist, orientalist and literary critic Evgeniy Dmitrievich Polivanov. The book is dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the birth of this outstanding scientist, who combined the brilliant talent of a researcher, the extraordinary abilities of a polyglot and deep knowledge of the field of language theory. Our work reveals the incomplete phenomenon of a person who combines service to science, society and the state», – said the author.
