The book «Russian language in Kyrgyzstan: milestones of the past» was presented in Bishkek
BISHKEK, May 31 – Sputnik. A documentary monograph was presented in Bishkek «Russian language in Kyrgyzstan: milestones of the past».
Author of the book – deputy Director of the Institute of Russian Language named after A. Orusbaev of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University Olga Sumarokova.
The publication is dedicated to the history of the Russian language and education in Russian on the territory of modern Kyrgyzstan in the pre-revolutionary period.
O. Sumarokova said that the book was published on the basis of historical materials that had not previously been published. These included notes and reports – about 50 archival documents from Kyrgyzstan and Russia. The book also includes archival photographs.
The publication is part of the author's series «Eurasian Creators» and is dedicated to the Year of the Russian Language, declared in the CIS, and the 30th anniversary of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University.
