June 6 is Russian Language Day – an international holiday established by the UN and dedicated to the birthday of Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin. In 2024, the 225th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian poet is celebrated.
Pushkin Days have begun in Kyrgyzstan. Events, including lectures, concerts, performances, musical and literary evenings, competitions for reading works and drawing competitions, master classes, book exhibitions will be held in Bishkek, Osh, Jalal-Abad, Kyzyl-Kiya, Kant and Belovodsk from June 6 to 9.
Bishop Savvaty attended the Opening Ceremony of the Pushkin Days, which took place in the Great Assembly Hall of the Main Building of the KRSU. Bishop Savvaty addressed the participants with a welcoming speech and laid flowers at the monument to A.S. Pushkin.
