In Kyrgyzstan, the monument to Panfilov will be restored for the 80th anniversary of the Victory
The Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU) announced the start of a large-scale restoration of the monument to the Hero of the Soviet Union, General Ivan Vasilyevich Panfilov in the village of Panfilovskoye. The initiative is timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The monument, erected in 1972, has fallen into disrepair over the decades. The KRSU delegation, having examined the monument, revealed serious damage:
