Why the novel "Two Captains" fell in love with readers — "Between the Lines"

Leonid Sumarokov, adviser to the rector of KRSU on issues of historical and cultural heritage, spoke about how Veniamin Kaverin’s cult novel "Two Captains" interacts with the new reality.

Soviet writer Veniamin Kaverin is best known for the historical adventure novel "Two Captains". After its publication in 1944, Kaverin received not only all-Union fame, but also the Stalin Prize. The phrase uttered by the hero of "Two Captains": "Fight and search, find and not give up" even became the motto of the polar explorers.

In the podcast "Between the Lines" on Sputnik Kyrgyzstan radio, Leonid Sumarokov explained why, despite state recognition, there is no propaganda in the novel.
