The Eurasian Development Bank has established a scholarship program at KRSU to support talented students interested in the development of public-private partnerships (PPPs) in Kyrgyzstan and the Eurasian space.
The programme aims to stimulate the research activity of future economists and managers who are ready to contribute to the improvement of PPP mechanisms.
The EDB PPP scholarship is awarded to students in the «Economics» and «Management» areas who have passed a competitive selection. Main conditions for participation: no grades «satisfactory» and at least half of grades «excellent» for the current or previous semester.
The selection of candidates will be carried out by the competition commission of the KRSU. Students must prepare an essay on the problems of PPP development in Kyrgyzstan or the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. Work volume — up to three pages.
The scholarship can be awarded both to students on a budgetary basis (at the expense of the federal budget of the Russian Federation and the state budget of the Kyrgyz Republic), and to students studying under contracts for the provision of paid educational services.
The scholarship amount is 150 US dollars per month, the payment period is four months.

Theme of the essay
Students are invited to choose from 19 topics, among which are
• public-private partnerships and other forms of project financing for infrastructure in the Kyrgyz Republic;
• risk management in PPP projects;
• the role of international development banks in promoting PPPs;
• assessing the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of PPP projects;
• PPP in the field of transport, energy, social sphere and others.
The EDB PPP program will be an additional incentive for students to demonstrate their knowledge and research potential in one of the key areas of economic development of the country and region.
